Short answer: not yet
There is no federal flavour ban in Canada right now. Health Canada first floated restricting vaping flavours to tobacco, mint and menthol back in 2021, and five years later that proposal is still moving through the regulatory process, not sitting in front of Parliament.
If you have seen a headline saying flavours are getting banned, it is describing a proposal still in progress, not a rule that took effect.
The actual timeline
Per Health Canada's own forward regulatory plan, a pre-consultation was expected in spring 2026. The formal public comment period, published in the Canada Gazette, Part I, is expected in winter 2027 and runs 75 days. If the regulation proceeds after that, the finished version would publish in the Canada Gazette, Part II in fall 2027.
That is a long runway. Nothing changes for a BC vape shop between now and at least late 2027, and that assumes the proposal survives the comment period unchanged, which is not guaranteed either.
What BC already restricts, separate from any of this
BC did not wait on Ottawa. Flavoured vapour product, anything other than tobacco flavour, can only be sold at specialty adult-only vape shops like ours. Convenience stores and gas stations, anywhere under 19 is allowed to be, can only carry tobacco flavoured product.
That is a retail channel rule, not a flavour ban. The flavours themselves are still legal in BC today, just not everywhere.
What would actually change if the federal proposal goes through
The federal version is different in kind, not just scope. It would limit which flavours can be sold at all, nationwide, down to tobacco, mint and menthol, specialty shop or not. That is the piece worth watching, since it is not something a store's licensing status would get around.
Our take for now
Buy where flavour is actually legal today, which is a licensed specialty shop. If the federal timeline moves, we will post an update. Until then this is a multi-year process, not a countdown.
The rules that do apply today
We are strictly 19+, staff check government-issued photo ID at every purchase, and e-liquid is capped at 20 mg/mL nicotine, with 0 mg/mL options on the shelf too.
