1. Who we are

MooseVape ("MooseVape", "we", "us" or "our") operates four in-store vape retail locations in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, and the website at moosevape.ca (the "site"). This policy explains what information we collect through the site, how we use it, and the choices you have. Your privacy matters to us and we keep what we collect to a minimum.

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers information collected through the site only. MooseVape does not sell products online and does not offer delivery. All sales happen in person at one of our four stores. Information you provide in person at a store, including age and photo ID verification at the point of sale, is handled by store staff and is not collected through this site.

3. Information we collect

We do not require you to create an account, and the site does not process payments or online orders. The information we collect falls into two groups:

Information you give us

• If you contact us by email or social media, we receive the contact details and the contents of your message.

Information collected automatically

• Standard technical and usage data such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, links clicked, time on page, and the site that referred you.
• This data is gathered through cookies and similar technologies described in the next section.

4. Cookies, analytics and session recording

We use cookies and similar technologies to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. The tools we use are:

• Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics - measures aggregate traffic and how pages are used (pageviews, sessions, general location, device type).
• Microsoft Clarity - provides heatmaps and anonymized session recordings that show how visitors scroll, move and click on a page. This helps us see which sections, such as our FAQ, people engage with most. Microsoft Clarity automatically masks text input by default; we do not use it to capture passwords or payment details, and the site does not collect either.

5. How we use information

• To operate, maintain and improve the site.
• To understand which content and locations visitors are most interested in.
• To respond to questions you send us.
• To keep the site secure and prevent misuse.
• To meet our legal and regulatory obligations as a BC vape retailer.

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the analytics service providers named above, who process it on our behalf, and where we are required to by law or to protect our rights. We do not share your information with advertisers for the purpose of selling it.

7. Your choices

• Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking cookies may affect how the site works.
• You can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
• We honour Global Privacy Control and similar browser signals where required.
• Under British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada's PIPEDA, you may request access to or correction of the personal information we hold about you. Contact us using the details below.

8. Data retention

We keep automatically collected analytics data only as long as needed for the purposes above, after which it is aggregated or deleted in line with our providers' standard retention periods. Messages you send us are kept only as long as needed to respond and for our records.

9. A strictly 19+ site

MooseVape products and content are intended for adults of legal age (19 or older in British Columbia). The site is gated to confirm you are 19 or older before you enter. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 19 and we do not market to minors. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

10. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information collected through the site. No website can be guaranteed fully secure, but we work to keep what little we collect safe.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
