The rule in one sentence
Since July 2021, no vaping product sold in Canada can exceed 20 mg/mL of nicotine. That is federal law under the Nicotine Concentration in Vaping Products Regulations, and it applies to every bottle, pod and disposable on our wall.
If you have seen 5 percent or 50 mg products in US shops or online, that is why you will not find them here. Nobody in BC can legally stock them. A shop offering them is not a shop you want to trust.
What the strengths look like now
The wall organizes around a handful of levels:
- 20 mg/mL is the ceiling. Most salt nic pods and disposables sit here
- 10 to 12 mg/mL is the common middle ground for salt nic
- 3 to 6 mg/mL covers most freebase juice for tanks and mods
- 0 mg/mL exists across formats. Our nicotine-free range covers disposables, pods and juice

Why the cap exists
Health Canada brought the limit in to reduce the appeal of high strength products to people who never smoked, while keeping workable strengths available for adults. Agree or disagree with where the line landed, it is uniform: every province, every format, every brand plays by the same 20.
A side effect worth knowing: products from US websites or cross border runs do not meet Canadian labelling and concentration rules, and shipments get seized at the border regularly. The wall in a licensed BC shop is the legal supply, full stop.
BC adds its own layer
Beyond the federal cap, BC has its own rules that shape what you see in store:
- The full flavour range is legal only in 19+ specialty shops like ours. General retail like gas stations is limited to tobacco flavour
- Vaping products carry BC's 20 percent PST rate, which is why the receipt looks different from a regular purchase
- Packaging is regulated: plain warnings, child resistant containers, no health claims anywhere
That first point is the reason a specialty shop exists at all. The full disposable and e-liquid range lives behind an age check by design.
What it means when you shop
The cap levels the field, so brands compete on flavour quality and hardware instead of raw strength. Staff at any of our five stores can match what you used to buy to its closest legal equivalent. Bring the old package if you have it, the label tells us everything we need.
You must be 19 or older with government issued photo ID, and we card every visit, every time. All five MooseVape stores run 24/7:
